Yogi Berra: It's Déjà-Vu All Over Again!

Stephen Harper is a real Taurus. Boy is he ever predictable...haven't we seen this movie before?

Flashback to: Senate, courts would keep Tories in check: Harper

CTV.ca News Staff

A Conservative government would have to work with the checks and balances of a Canadian court system that bears the mark of more than a decade of Liberal reign, Stephen Harper said Wednesday.

The Tory leader drove home comments he made Tuesday that the Conservatives would be unable to wield absolute power even as a majority, as they would face a series of checks and balances from Liberal-appointed judges and senators.

His last performance did not exactly do him justice! Many claimed it actually cost him his shot at a majority government. Now, explain to me how this latest rendition will do precisely the opposite. Right.

  1. Ronald,

Let's say I have a little experience in rattling cages and providing leaks to flush out my opponents.

The CBC has been given a near perfect tape nine minutes long having Harper talk about his hidden agenda?

The CBC are playing this tape and analyzing the comments. 4x daily. National Media are now carrying this story.

    1) CPC want a majority to stop the coalition
    2) The Liberals will enact the coalition unless the CPC win a majority.
    3) Harper asked imagine if Liberals were left in power by the NDP? The left leaning soft on crime judges...

The regular voter will now have the CBC broadcast for FREE the CPC elephant.

What has been the Liberal response?

Iggy defends the Bloc and NDP by stating they are not separtists and socialists.

How do you think this will play outside Quebec?

I have said the elephant is the coalition and it will be discussed the rest of the week including his majority.

Canadians are being asked to choose stablility with a CPC majority or a Liberal led coalition.

Time will tell if this narrative sticks.

  2. CanadianSense,

Talk about wheels, within wheels, within wheels. Are you sure you aren't the one with Russian ancestry?

What do they call it? A Matryoshka doll. I'll give you credit for one thing, you're nothing if not creative. We'll see if you're in a class all by yourself. Big risk for potential big reward.

I would never take a huge gamble like that. Too much on the line.

  3. Ronald,

Check my posts about the narrative. The elephant is the MSM talking about coalition. Harper is having everyone talk about the Coalition. Is the coalition possible?

If the Liberals win a small minority what will they have to give to the NDP or Bloc to keep the confidence, another $ 4.7 Billion?

Can the taxpayer afford another minority government held hostage by the Bloc or NDP?

Iggy had a nice speech, but he ignored his repeated flip flops.

He defended it and than later recanted.

Now he repeats he could have been the PM in January again.

    So what is it?

Is he for or against the whatever they call it?

All Harper has to do is remind the voters of the Liberal NDP $ 4.6 Billion deal.

The Liberals are interested in keeping and gaining power at the taxpayer will pay for it.

The CPC are NOT for sale. (narrative)

Again thank you for the pet names. I said the coalition seed is planted and will fester rest of this week.

What did English Canada think of the Coalition, check the Polls outside Quebec.

This is the way for the CPC to get a majority by trading off 9 seats for 30 more outside QC.

  4. CanadianSense,

This Prime Minister just kills me...and I thought he wasn't ruthless enough when I was a Conservative!

The guy is more than willing to potentially cut the throats of five of his own cabinet ministers (even the Quebec lieutenant) if he can maximize traction in English Canada.

Harper says he becomes a different person when he plays the piano. The PM must be doing that right now.

One small piece of advice: try not to stand still for any longer than necessary at the next Quebec caucus meeting!! I hear their favourite show is Point de mire...

    Bellum omnium contra omnes.

Ronald like I said some people march to their own tune.

They allowed him to tape the speech....go figure. That silly Harper!

"I have always been a proud Young Liberal, and have never hidden that fact from anyone," Tetreault told us tonight. "I was invited to the event by Josh Pringle, the Conservative riding president, who knows I am a Liberal."
